Lincoln City’s on loan star, Joe Ward has spoken to ElWriteBack following the side’s FA Cup win against Burnley.
The Brighton & Hove Albion youngster joined Danny Cowley’s Lincoln City side in January on an initial one-month loan.
Last week the winger extended his loan for a further two months after scoring twice in a 3-1 FA Trophy victory over Welling.
When asked about today’s 1-0 win, Ward said: “I am still buzzing! It was absolute scenes when the goal went in and the celebrations!
“I feel we deserved the win and all the success! The gaffer didn’t say much to be fair he’s still speechless, but we will get some good words on Monday!”
When asked who he wants in the next round the loanee said: “Hopefully, one of the big dogs away or even at home! We’re very focused on the main objective of the season and that is to gain promotion and our heads are on Tuesday night’s game now.
“These games are just a bonus for us and we’re making sure we’re ready for the main job!’
When asked about Joey Barton’s controversial performance, Ward said: “I’m not sure to be fair, I shook his hand at the end and he said well done lad and then went off.”
Lincoln City will be ball number one in the draw tomorrow night at 6.30pm on BT Sports 2.
