Southend United star, Nile Ranger has been charged with fraud and money laundering.
Former Newcastle United star, Nile Ranger has run into trouble with the law again following a number of previous crimes to his name.
Police have said that Ranger has been been charged with conspiracy to defraud and conspiracy to commit money laundering dating back to February 2015.
Ranger, who recently signed a three-and-a-half-year contract with Southend appeared at Highbury Corner Magistrates’ Court earlier today with two other defendants.
Wood Green Crown Court will hold the remainder of the case in the new year.
Southend have said that they will continue to allow Ranger to be available for selection in their match day squad.
The forward has scored twice in 10 league games for The Shrimpers so far this season.
