Edmonton thought they had equalised on the 63rd minute through Shamit Shome but the Canadian’s headed goal was disallowed due to an offside call.

An equaliser finally came with 10 minutes left on the clock as, Nik Ledgerwood tapped in the rebound of Tomi Ameobi’s shot which had hit the post.

Ameobi was again involved 10 minutes later as his powerful run down the right wing allowed the former Newcastle United youngster to get a shot on goal which was again tapped in, this time through Fordyce who quickly put his foot through the ball.

Fordyce spoke to ElWriteBack abaout the game saying, “During the first half we weren’t at the game. They could have been three up at half time but we went in and had a good team talk which meant we came out and managed to play much better in the second half, getting two late goals to win.

“We prepared exactly the same as we have done for every game.

“Juan Arango scored their goal and along with him they have some top class players so to beat them was a good victory!
