Lincoln Red Imps caused a major upset yesterday after beating Celtic 1-0 during their Champions League second qualifying round fixture.
The second leg will be played next Wednesday in Scotland at Celtic Park.
Lee Casciaro was the man who produced the goods for Lincoln after breaking the deadlock in the 48th minute.
The striker spoke to ElWriteBack last Thursday about The Red Imps’ 2-1 aggregate victory over Flora Tallin during the side’s Champions League first qualifying round fixture.
Casciaro said, “We are excited about the journey we have ahead of us, facing Celtic but we still want to make a good account of ourselves.”
The Gibraltar based side did just that after beating the Scottish Champions 1-0 last night.
Celtic fan, Rob Smith spoke exclusively to ElWriteBack about his side’s chances of going through, “I think we’ll still get through but fair play to Lincoln, they showed up and we didn’t.
“We’re in the middle of pre-season but that’s no excuse. That was one of the worst performances I’ve seen as a Celtic fan.
“Rodgers now knows the task he faces to get us into Europe. The away leg will be too much for Lincoln though, I predict we’ll win comfortably.”
Smith went on to say, “You can’t blame Rodgers, this is Deila’s team. Hopefully a result as bad as this will set gears in motion and then the squad as a whole can improve.”
