Spanish footballer Fran Carles passed away at the age of 26 after an accident in a hotel gym on Friday.
The footballer captained Segunda Divison B side Linares Deportivo and suffered a fatal haemorrhage caused by a thigh injury.
The Spanish footballer was rushed to hospital but the haemorrhage spread to his vital organs including his kidneys.
More than 4,000 Linares fans gathered outside the side’s stadium to pay their respects as Carles’ coffin was carried out.
A club statement said, “There are no words to express the deep sorrow we feel.”
La Liga side, Sevilla FC have announced that they will play a friendly with Linares Deportivo in memory of the 26-year-old.
