Yesterday it was announced that former Man City forward, Ched Evans had signed for League one side, Chesterfield.
The Welsh forward was offered a contract by Maltese side Hibernians before complications made the deal fall through.
Hibs midfielder, Zack Scerri commented on the transfer saying, “From reading about the player I got to know that he is a very good player.
“After some years of absence from playing I don’t know if his ability is still the same.
“I guess that it is a big signing for the club as if not they wouldn’t have been interested in him.
“From the players side of things it’s a big signing as he has the chance to prove himself again.”
The young midfielder went on to say, “He was close to signing with Hibernians. It would have been a good signing for Maltese football as players of that level playing here in Malta would be a big asset.”
