Made by – Hummel.
Players – Gascoigne, Lineker, Mabbutt, Nayim, Stewart.
Notes – Rare away shirt as worn in a 3-1 win at Luton in 88-89, an impressive 4-2 thrashing of Sheffield Wednesday in the following campaign and in the run to ’91 FA Cup Final glory.
This is the first shirt to make my top three. I have chosen this Spurs shirt because of its retro look, produced by the brand, Hummel who are not so common in the 21st century when it comes to producing kits for professional football teams. Although I wasn’t born until 1998, the 1990/1991 season is still one which I treasure as a Spurs fan. We famously won the FA Cup in a 2-1 victory over Nottingham Forest. The club had a number of great players during this period including Gary Mabbutt, Gary Lineker and one of the greatest midfielders English football has seen, Paul Gascoigne.
- 1997/98 AWAY SHIRT
Made by – Pony.
Players – David Ginola, Jurgen Klinsmann, Nicola Berti and José Dominguez.
Notes – Away shirt as worn by José Dominguez in his first season at the club after signing from Sporting Lisbon.
The 1997/98 Away shirt has been picked due to the colour and my first memories as a Spurs fan. I was born in 1998 and I still have my first kit with the “Hewlett Packard” sponsor in my room, although the shirt I own is the home jersey, I still think that this is a beautiful kit design. It is very basic but this is what makes the shirt so unique.
- 2008/09 THIRD SHIRT
CFS DESCRIPTION: TO BUY THIS SHIRT CLICK HERE.
Made by – Puma.
Players – Modric, Palacios, Lennon, Defoe, Pavlyuchenko.
Notes – Rare third shirt as worn by central defender Jonathan Woodgate when Harry Redknapp took over as manager and guided the side to an eighth place finish after their awful start to the season.
This shirt is one of my all time favourites. I remember buying it with “C.Russell 39” on the back because that was the shirt number my hero, Jonathan Woodgate wore when he scored in the Carling Cup final the season before. I have lots of memories of this shirt and it also reminds me of the 2006/07 third shirt which had a similar colour scheme.
