Southampton have signed QPR striker Charlie Austin for a reported £4 million.
The England striker scored 18 goals for QPR last season before they were relegated to the Sky Bet Championship.
The 26-year-old has joined The Saints on four-and-a-half-year contract after scoring 10 goals in 16 appearances so far this season for QPR.
Former Southampton player, William Beaney spoke exclusively to ElWriteBack saying, “I have seen him play since his days as a youngster when he was at my old team Poole Town.
“He has scored several goals against us (Southampton) for both Swindon and QPR.
“Austin is also a lethal finisher.
“The only worry I have is that he was going to sign for Hull City but failed his medical, so I hope there are no injury snags.”
