Alphonse Areola is a name PSG fans are excited about for their future as they plan to dominate Ligue 1 for the next 10 years.
The talented goalkeeper is currently on loan at Villarreal where he trains with the former Spanish U21 Sergio Asenjo and Argentinian Mariano Barbosa.

Areola signed a professional deal with Ligue 1 side, PSG in the summer 2009. The French U21 international made his debut in May 2013 when he replaced Salvatore Sirigu in a 3-1 victory over Brest. His first start came one week later against Lorient in another 3-1 win, this time the fixture was away from Le Parc des Princes.
The talented shot stopper was sent out on loan to Ligue 2 side RC Lens in July 2013 where he made over 30 appearances. This move was on the back of the 2013 FIFA U20 World Cup Final where Areola helped claim victory for the French U20 side during a penalty shootout in which he saved two penalties to prevent Uruguay from claiming the title.
The goalkeeper was sent out on a second loan in July 2014. This time the French international joined Ligue 1 side, SC Basita. Areola made over 30 appearances for Basita including the 2015 Coupe de la Ligue Final against his parent club, PSG which resulted in a 4-0 loss for Sporting Club.
Following two impressive season’s away from The Red and Blue Army, Areola secured another loan deal in June 2015. The young goalkeeper joined Villarreal where he has made 19 appearances this season. (Statistic sourced from Transfermarkt.co.uk).
Areola is eligible to play for the Philippine as his parents are both of Filipino heritage. In 2011 the goalkeeper was invited to play for The Azkals by manager Dan Palami.
