I speak to the Australian born forward, Chris Duggan who is currently playing for Queen’s Park in The Scottish League Two.
The highly rated striker has a bright future ahead with both his parent club, Patrick Thistle and his county, Australia as he aims to break into both the first team’s of the two sides.
Queen’s Park are currently second in the Scottish League Two with only three points separating them and first place Annan Athletic. How does the side aim to earn it’s way up to first place?
Consistency and taking each game as it comes.
Is promotion the main target for Queen’s Park this season?
Not just promotion, the club is aiming to win everything possible.
You have played for a number of sides in previous years, at which club(s) have you enjoyed your football the most?
Queen’s Park and Partick Thistle.
You are Australian born, is it your dream to play for your country?
Definitely, my main goal in my career is to play for Australia and hopefully that will be achieved.
Who did you look up to as a young footballer?
Mark Viduka and Harry Kewell.
How have loan deals helped you develop as a professional within your career?
With loan deals you get use to playing first team football which means you get better by playing as much as you can. Loan spells have given me the chance to do that. The more games the better.
Do you see yourself playing first team football for Partick Thistle next season?
Where do you wish to be in 10 years, in terms of your footballing career?
I want to be playing in the English Premier League whilst being a regular for Australia.
Do you have any pre-match rituals?
No, I don’t believe in that.
Finally, Queen’s Park play Berwick Rangers on Boxing Day, how has the side prepared for this fixture?
We had training on Christmas Eve. Apart from that it is up to everyone at the club to prepare in the best way they know possible for Saturday’s fixture.
