Following the success of Ruskington Lion’s U17’s charity match in May 2014, organiser Charlie Russell is pleased to announce that there will be a second game in memory of Dave Keal. In May 2014, Charlie Russell of Ruskington Lions U17 organised a charity match to raise funds for Cancer Research UK. Following help from professionals including Rob Burch and Grant Brown the entire event raised over £2400 which smashed the initial target of £100. Ruskington went onto win the game 3-1 against a Pointon Juniors XI. Find out more about the first charity event by clicking here. The second charity match will again raise money for Cancer Research UK as well as mental health charity YoungMinds. The match will be in memory of Dave Keal who sadly passed away in 2014 from the terrible illness. Due to the fact that Dave was one of the biggest Liverpool fans the organisers knew they have decided to have the two teams in Red of Liverpool and Blue of Everton. The match is set to be played on the 6th September 2015, with a 12.30 lunchtime kick off. The day will feature much more than the football match with live music, cake stalls, raffles and much more!
