Lewis Robson scored twice as Ruskington Lions saw off Coningsby away from home.

Robson scored the only goal of the first half after the Coningsby goalkeeper spilt a powerful free kick from the Lions play maker. In the second half Ruskington had full control as Robson bagged a second from inside the box after the midfielder managed to get on the end of a Nathan Phillips cross. The wind didn’t stop the force of the Lions as in-form striker Luke Gilbert got the third through a low and hard shot into the bottom corner. Midfielder Dan Hare nearly got himself a goal on a number of occasions but was denied by the woodwork. To finish the scoring and to secure victory, Captain Jake Pointon tapped in from 6 yards as another ball from Phillips was put across goal. This is Rusko’s first win under new manager Tam Flemming. With possible victories in future fixtures over rivals Metheringham and Hykeham, Flemming’s side could find themselves in sixth place.
