Lincoln City 1 Forest Green Rovers 2

Forest Green provided a boost in their bid for the Conference play-off’s with a victory away to Lincoln City.

First half goals within the opening 20 minutes provided a comfortable victory for the travelling side. The first goal was provided from the head of Elliot Frear with a second soon being added from the penalty spot, where goal machine Jon Parkin bagged his 20th goal of the season. Parkin, known to Rovers’ fans as “The Beast” had the chance to add a second goal to his name, also from the spot after Imps’ captain Alan Power brought down Kurtis Guthrie in the box. Parkin went onto see his penalty denied by the City keepers feet.

A poor quality second half followed with just the one goal as Power converted from the spot for Lincoln as Ben Tomlinson was bundled over by Cameroon midfielder, Clovis Kamdjo. Lincoln had the chance to get a late equaliser with five consecutive corners being awarded deep into injury time at Sincil Bank. This saw the Imps’ keeper, Paul Farman arrive in the oppositions box which would provided an extra man for the City attack.

Following Rovers victory, this see’s them placed fifth in the league with Lincoln sitting in 13th.
