A strong second half showing from Ruskington Lions blew away their hosts Boston United as Rusko managed to get their second away win on the bounce. The Lions started the game the brighter side with goalkeeper Jack Vine making a number of top class saves to keep the two sides level but a shock own goal from Angus Marr just before half time gave United an undeserved lead. After the break the Lions came out fighting with a brilliant defensive performance from centre back duo Ryan Goy and Charlie Russell. Goy managed to net the equaliser for Rusko with a powerful header from the back post after Toby Petett whipped in a perfect corner. Soon after the leveller, Marr managed to make up for his first half mistake after he scored his second goal of the season with a right footed volley from the edge of the six yard box. Russell nearly added to the lead as his diving header at the front post was kept out by United stopper Craig Fiske with a fingertip save. Up the other end of the pitch Vine proved why he the won man of the match award as he managed to parry away a one on one shot with United striker Dexter Martell. Soon after this scare, the ball dropped to the feet of Lions captain Jake Pointon, where he managed to knock it into the bottom right corner to secure the victory for Ruskington.
